About the program

Master of Technical Education program aims to produce more mature and skilled graduates to meet the country’s needs for skilled manpower and experts in the field of Civil Engineering in the public, private or self-employed sectors.

PEO 1
Make judgments of relevant theories and practices and demonstrate capability of producing new and creative knowledge in order to be effective and inspiring professionals in the field of Technical Education (Civil Engineering)

PEO 2
Critically analyse, and synthesize the understanding of their own sources of mature professional knowledge and professional practices to solve significant problems in the field of Technical Education (Civil Engineering).

PEO 3
Plan and execute innovative projects, research initiatives and write dissertations, theses and reports for the purpose of building and applying knowledge of Technical Education (Civil Engineering) for the benefit of the profession and society as a whole.

PEO 4
Demonstrate the ability to generate and deliver knowledge of Technical Education (Civil Engineering) effectively through the practice of lifelong learning and entrepreneurship.

PEO 5
Lead and participate in knowledge generation and in championing intellectual property rights and acknowledgments of original works by others, guarding against plagiarism and other academic improprieties in Technical Education (Civil Engineering).

PEO 6
Acquire general knowledge and develop diverse educational specializations, individual talents and potentialities in the field of Technical Education (Civil Engineering).

DELIVERY MODE : Part Time OR Coursework

DURATION OF STUDY : 4 Semesters (2 years)

ACADEMIC SCHEDULE:

  • March – 14 weeks*

  1. Applicant must have a Bachelor Degree with Honours from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) or any other higher learning institution recognised by the Senate with cumulative grade points average (CPA) as follows:
    • Research Programme : 2.75;
    • Mixed Mode Programme : 2.75;
    • Coursework Programme : 2.50 ;

 

  1. Application from applicant who possess a Bachelor Degree or equivalent not meeting the minimum CPA can be accepted subjected to minimum years of working experience in related field.

*(ONE (1) year working experience equivalence to 0.1 CPA).

 

  1. Applicants with APEL-T7 qualification (Applicable for Malaysian Citizen Only) can be accepted subjected to application to the postgraduate programme as listed below:

  1. Applicants should fulfill the minimum English proficiency level of :
    • MUET Band 3 ;
  1. Applicants who fulfill the academic qualification from Institution of higher learning throughout Malaysia that is recognized by the Senate are eligible to apply for exemption from the English language requirements.
