HRD Corp Accreditation Video Recording Session – Mastering Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Date: 5 August 2026 (Wednesday)
Time: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Venue: Training Room UTHM Education & Training
Trainer:
Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Fairouz bin Mohd Yusof
Associate Professor | Certified Energy Manager | BESS Project Manager
The BESS Training UET session was conducted as part of the HRD Corp Accreditation Video Recording process at UTHM Education & Training (UET). The advanced technical training focused on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and their applications in modern energy systems.
In addition, the session highlighted important technical areas related to battery technology, safety, system integration and practical energy storage design.
BESS Training UET
The training covered several key topics related to Battery Energy Storage Systems. Participants gained exposure to BESS components and different battery cell chemistries used in energy storage applications.
Furthermore, the session explored Battery Management System (BMS) controls, safety protocols and fire suppression measures. These areas are important for ensuring safe and reliable BESS operation.
The trainer also discussed grid services and system integration. This topic provided insights into how battery storage can support modern power systems and improve energy management.
Practical BESS Sizing and Technical Knowledge
Another important area of the programme was practical BESS sizing and techno-economic considerations. The session introduced factors that influence system capacity, performance and project feasibility.
In addition, participants gained a better understanding of how technical and economic factors can affect the planning of an energy storage project. This knowledge can support more effective decision-making in real-world applications.
The programme also highlighted the importance of selecting suitable system components based on operational needs. As a result, participants can develop a more structured understanding of BESS design and implementation.
Supporting Advanced Technical Training
The BESS Training UET reflects UET’s commitment to delivering professional and industry-relevant technical training. Programmes such as this support the development of specialised competencies in energy technology and sustainable systems.
Moreover, exposure to emerging technologies can help professionals remain relevant as the energy sector continues to evolve. Advanced technical training also supports workforce readiness for future energy projects.
UET appreciates the expertise shared by Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Fairouz bin Mohd Yusof throughout the recording session.
Moving forward, UTHM Education & Training remains committed to providing quality training programmes that strengthen professional knowledge, technical competency and industry readiness.
