Strategic Discussion on Semiconductor Expertise Collaboration with UTHM

The IC Design Training UTHM discussion brought together UTHM Education & Training Sdn. Bhd. (UET) and the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (FKEE), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). The session explored future collaboration in Integrated Circuit (IC) Design training and semiconductor talent development.

During the meeting, both parties discussed opportunities to strengthen professional training capabilities. In addition, the session focused on how UTHM’s expertise can support the growing demand for skilled professionals in the semiconductor industry.

The discussion highlighted several potential areas of cooperation. These included professional training programmes, human capital development, research, innovation and industry-driven skills enhancement.

Furthermore, both parties explored ways to develop training programmes that meet current semiconductor industry requirements. By combining academic expertise with professional training experience, future programmes can provide participants with relevant technical knowledge and practical skills.

The meeting also discussed opportunities to strengthen IC Design competencies. This area plays an important role in supporting talent development for the semiconductor and high-technology sectors.

The session was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohd Khairul Ahmad, Prof. Dr. Nafarizal Nayan, Associate Professor Dr. Nabihah Ahmad, and Dr. Warsuzarina Mat Jubadi from FKEE, UTHM.

Meanwhile, UET was represented by Associate Professor Dr. Siti Sarah Omar, General Manager of UTHM Education & Training Sdn. Bhd., and Mr. Reeza Hilmee Azme, Senior Executive.

Both teams exchanged ideas on potential training approaches and future collaboration. Moreover, the discussion highlighted the importance of developing programmes that respond to technological changes and workforce requirements.
