The UET Maldives Collaboration brought together UTHM Education and Training Sdn. Bhd. (UET) and representatives from the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives. The meeting explored potential cooperation in education, professional training, tourism and aviation.
In addition, both parties exchanged ideas on programmes that could support skills development and international engagement. The discussion also highlighted opportunities to strengthen educational ties between UTHM and the Maldives.
UET Maldives Collaboration
The meeting was attended by representatives from the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives, including:
- Mr. Abbas Adil Riza – Trade Representative
- Mr. Ahmad Shahid – First Secretary
- Mr. Hassam Hassan Maumoon – First Secretary
Meanwhile, UET was represented by Mrs. Hanita and Mrs. Elyya.
During the session, both parties discussed several potential areas of collaboration. These included Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), culinary training and professional development programmes.
TVET and AI Training Opportunities
One of the key areas discussed was TVET and culinary training. These programmes could provide participants with practical knowledge and industry-relevant skills.
Furthermore, the meeting explored potential Artificial Intelligence (AI) training for teachers. Such training could support educators in understanding emerging digital technologies and applying suitable tools in teaching and learning.
The discussion also covered opportunities to develop training programmes that respond to current workforce needs. Through structured collaboration, both parties can explore programmes that support professional and technical competency development.
Student Mobility, Tourism and Aviation
Student mobility and tourism were also discussed during the meeting. These initiatives could provide students with international exposure while encouraging cultural and educational exchange between Malaysia and the Maldives.
In addition, both parties explored potential Private Pilot Licence (PPL) training opportunities. Aviation-related programmes could create new pathways for participants who are interested in developing knowledge and skills in the aviation sector.
The combination of education, tourism and mobility initiatives could also strengthen international engagement between both countries.
