Japan Edutourism Programme UTHM discussion with CLS

Discussion on Edutourism Programme with Centre for Language Studies (CLS), UTHM

Date: 4 June 2026 (Thursday)
Time: 10:00 AM

Japan Edutourism Programme UTHM was discussed during a meeting between UTHM Education and Training Sdn. Bhd. (UETSB) and the Centre for Language Studies (CLS), UTHM. The proposed programme is designed for students from Japan who are interested in language learning and cultural experiences in Malaysia.

The programme will focus on English language learning and daily communication practice. Students will have opportunities to improve their communication skills through practical activities and interaction with local communities.

In addition, cultural activities will introduce participants to Malaysian traditions and lifestyles. Educational visits to selected destinations in Johor are also being considered as part of the programme.

These activities will provide students with a balanced experience between classroom learning and real-world exposure. They can also learn more about Malaysian culture, education and local communities.

International Collaboration

The meeting was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Haji Azmi Abdul Latiff, Dean of the Centre for Language Studies, and Associate Prof. Dr. Sazuliana Sanif, Deputy Dean (Academic and Students).

Also present was Madam Junko Hiyama, Japanese Language Teacher from the Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics programme at Yamaguchi University.

UTHM Education and Training Sdn. Bhd. was represented by Pn. Hanita and Pn. Elyya.

During the meeting, both parties discussed suitable activities, programme arrangements and learning experiences for the students. The discussion also explored ways to strengthen cooperation between Malaysia and Japan through education.

The Japan Edutourism Programme UTHM is expected to create more opportunities for international students to experience education in Malaysia. Furthermore, the programme can support language development and encourage cultural exchange between participants.

This initiative reflects UETSB’s commitment to expanding international education opportunities. It also supports the promotion of Johor and Malaysia as destinations for educational tourism.

Through programmes such as this, UETSB hopes to strengthen international partnerships while offering meaningful learning experiences to students from around the world.
